Once you buy, you have to sell

Standard

A great thing to do when looking to buy camera and supplies is look at a bunch of different stores and websites. There will always be places trying to make you buy more than you need, so do your homework on what your wanting to do and go from there.

A great place that my photography professor told me to check out it is KEH.com for cameras, camera bags, and tripods. I wouldn’t recommend buying your film, photogenic paper, or photo box there because it’s not the best price, but for new or even used cameras are available for reasonable prices.

My favorite place to get other supplies is Amazon.com, they have the best prices I’ve seen anywhere for film, paper, photo box, and clear sleeves for contact sheets and film.

Now, it’s time to get your name out there, you’ve bought your supplies so now its time to sell what you can do. There are magazines, websites, and companies you can get your name to, you just have to put yourself out there.  People like experience, so find a internship, find a place to sit in and learn, you can do it for fun and even for free.

Some places to check out would be Country-Magazine.com and Blur Magazine, you can submit your photo with your name and title etc. If you don’t try you won’t succeed so don’t be afraid to mess up and don’t be afraid to get shot down, trust me, not everyone will like or get your photos.

Like I said, get tips, I look for advice and tips anywhere I can get them, I have contacted and in hope of doing an internship with an amazing photographer, Lauren Coakley.  I graduated from the same high school as her but was two years younger, she is a true inspiration and I know she’ll be very well known one day. She does anything and everything, her style is so off the wall which makes her so unique and stand out from the rest, and that should be your ultimate goal. Please go visit her website to see how amazing she is. http://www.laurencoakley.com/Landscapes/
